Pediatric Occupational Therapist OTR/L - Part-time, Telehealth options


We are looking for a part-time Occupational Therapist (OT) who enjoys learning and growing in a rich and encouraging environment where you will feel empowered to make decisions. This role is ideal for a candidate who is available to work between the hours of 3pm-7pm Monday-Friday, 2-3 days per week and wants to discover how it feels to not only change your own life, but the lives of others as well. This position has the potential to become full-time.
  • The ideal candidate enjoys working with preschool, elementary and/or middle age students and has relevant treatment experience. Previous pediatric treatment experience is a plus
  • New graduates are welcome - We have mentors that are here to guide you!

Overview of Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates must have the background and knowledge to assess and serve pediatric clients with a variety of disabilities and sensory needs. Therapists are detailed oriented for comprehensive clinical reports and IEPs. Flexibility is key! We services clients in clinic and virtual settings for evaluation and on-going services.
  • Conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements treatment, and provides care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Demonstrates flexibility and good communication skills and collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care.
  • Meets with clients at Kinera Foundation location to provide in-person/in-office services/therapy; utilize telehealth platform to provide virtual services/therapy.
  • Assess patient’s evolving needs and adjusts treatments in accordance with patient progression.
  • Document information and write reports with details regarding patient billing, insurance, evaluations, progress, treatment and discharge of clients.
  • Refer clients when appropriate to additional educational or medical services.

Additional skills desired: Clinical fieldwork in a pediatric setting is preferred. Creative mind-set, adaptable and strong attention to time-management; Exceptional organizational skills; Proficient use of technology; Writes detailed notes and assessments; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Is comfortable communicating frequently with parents/caregivers; Experience and/or a passion for working with pediatric, autistic and developmentally disabled clients.

Part-time COTA (CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT)

Description:
We are looking for a part-time COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) who enjoys learning in a rich and supportive environment where you will be empowered and encouraged to grow your career in pediatric occupational therapy. This role is ideal for a candidate who wants to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

The part-time COTA will assist in providing appropriate aspects of quality patient care under the supervision of licensed occupational therapist(s). This position has the potential to grow into a full-time role.
Overview of Responsibilities:
· Implements and executes an established patient treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
· Communicates with patient, families, referring physicians, and other members of the team
· Provides timely written documentation per organization requirements and insurance providers
· Prepares and submits patient charges accurately to provide appropriate billing information.
· Professional judgment to ensure safety of self, patients, and others at all times

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree or two-year college certificate in occupational therapy assistant program.
  • Experience working with special needs children, working with typical children and/or rehabilitation preferred

Licenses, Registrations or Certifications:

  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • Valid occupational therapy assistant license
  • CPR and First Aid certifications preferred at hire.

Other skills:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to supervisors

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance according to the patients’ abilities.
· Must be able to sit and walk for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed especially in fulfilling patient care activities.
