Pediatric Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Part-time (In-person & Telehealth)


Description:
We are looking for a part-time COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) who enjoys learning in a rich and supportive environment where you will be empowered and encouraged to grow your career in pediatric occupational therapy. This role is ideal for a candidate who wants to make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

The part-time COTA will assist in providing appropriate aspects of quality patient care under the supervision of licensed occupational therapist(s). This position has the potential to grow into a full-time role.
Overview of Responsibilities:
· Implements and executes an established patient treatment plan of care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
· Communicates with patient, families, referring physicians, and other members of the team.
· Provides timely written documentation per organization requirements and insurance providers.
· Prepares and submits patient charges accurately to provide appropriate billing information.
· Professional judgment to ensure safety of self, patients, and others at all times.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree or two-year college certificate in occupational therapy assistant program (COTA).
  • Experience working with special needs children, working with typical children and/or rehabilitation preferred

Licenses, Registrations or Certifications:

  • Criminal background check required for hire
  • Valid occupational therapy assistant license
  • CPR and First Aid certifications preferred 

Other skills:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to supervisors

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance according to the patients’ abilities.
· Must be able to sit and walk for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed especially in fulfilling patient care activities.
